Why are Frisk's eyes closed?
Is the idea that she's unconscious from the fall or something like that? None of the other characters have closed eyes?

Because that would maybe reveal the gender.

Because Frisk does not need eyes to dodge various projectiles.

The concept of sightlessness has been used commonly throughout storytelling as a concept of both a window to a characters inner being, and the more literal physical state.

As far as the meta element is concerned, I have two explanations.
First, it could reference that Frisk has no "eyes" of their own, meaning that they are essentially not in control. As a passenger of the will of others, namely you and Chara, Frisk ends up with no will of their own, even in the best ending we see, where you are still in control of deciding their fate into the post game, whether it be to forge their own path or live happily with Toriel.

Second, it could be a suggestion that Frisk is truly impartial to the goings on of the game, leaving them innocent in either event of savior or genocide, since they have no capacity to interact with the atrocity or benevolence they are used for. Compare this concept to that of the Batter from Off who is not innocent in his role since he is capable of perceiving and commenting on the role he is being used for, in this case forming the opinion that he sanctions the player's mission.

These are only a few ways to interpret this element of the game story. I'm sure there are others.
If there's no canon explanation for her never opening her eyes I'm going to headcanon that she is unconscious and the whole monster world takes place in the spirit world. That'd explain why monsters vaporize instead of bleed and keel over when they die and why particularly determined beings can come back to life as though a flesh wound means nothing and why more sinister things like Flowey exists (I'm seriously considering that she's a demon born of a seed that flew out of hell or even Satan himself, otherwise how could she know so much and why does she try to get other characters to do evil things but then also want to teach characters that doing evil is wrong?) When Frisk gets out the other side she's really just returning back to her body. What do you guys think about my theory?

They just look closed. They're not actually.

please finish the game before posting ridiculous theories, you dont even know flowey's backstory
Will do, my first/last play was neutral and unusual and didn't tell me Flowey's backstory. I still feel like the undertale world takes place in the spirit world though?
Another theory I have is maybe it's dark in the monster world so Frisk is squinting to see or because it hurts her eyes to look out into the dark for too long. She's technically underground this whole time right?

it doesnt.
Okay, I won't try to decide what's going on until after I've played multiple times
Maybe they just have really squinty eyes. Is squinty a word? Well it doesn't matter. I'm sure you get the idea.

Frisk has so much Determination that it's trying to escape from their body through their eyes. They keep their eyes closed so it won't escape.

If they opened their eyes, the escaping Determination would manifest as eye beams that destroy everything they face.

(Note: This is purely speculation and not canon is any way, shape, or form)

Because Frisk wants to get crows feet
