DirectX(r) Help!
Whenever I try to play a game, it comes up with an error saying: The latest version of Microsoft DirectX(r) is required to play Undertale. It happens on every game, even Dragon's Prophet. I have Window's 7 and to try and get Directx 11 to work, I tried uninstalling Directx, reinstalling it, changing the value and I did click on the link that says Microsoft DirectX(r) download site but it comes up with that god forsaken Windows 10 advert that no one wants. Also, I just tried downloading DirectX(r) and I found it by typing on google and I then downloaded it but it said an internal system error occurred, look in something and something files to something, I forgot the rest. >_< Anyway, I should mention that I'm not a very techy person and don't understand some of the things so basically, dumb it down for me, cheers for the help. Oh, and try not to be mean?

I think it's a way of Windows saying "Download Windows 10 or die a rotten peasant".

Try upgrading to Windows 10.

Windows 10 is free, provided that you're using Windows 7, 8 or 8.1

If you're using XP, then at least get 7. It had a good run, but now it literally has no official support anymore.

You need the DirectX9 runtime to get Undertale to run. The DX10 and DX11 installers are for DX10 and 11. They are not backcompatible. You need them all.

I'm currently using Windows 7 and I'll try downloading the DirectX9 runtime.

I downloaded the DirectX9 runtime and it said: components are now ready to use. What do I do now then? I tried running Undertale after but it still said Directx(r) is required to play Undertale.

Okay, I fixed Undertale but now Dragon's Prophet is saying that it cannot initialize engine, please check direct3d or drive configuration. How do I solve this?

Your GPU drivers. Update them. Not thru Windows update but your GPU manufacturers website. Typicaly it would be Intel, nVidia or AMD.

I fixed the problem, it was due to the values of the DirectX in the registry, thanks for everyone's help though! :D

Umm.... What kind of values? I'm interested in the values you changes. =)

Gah, hold on let me try and find it again.
InstalledVersion REG_BINARY 00 00 00 09 00 00 00 00
Version REG_SZ 4.09.00.0904
That was in regedit in the Direct folder thing where you can see the values. I would tell you the link but I can't find it in my history, you're welcome if I helped anyone with this. Oh and I had to delete my old InstalledVersion and Version then made a new one to make sure it worked, I'm actually going to try and see if DP works since Undertale does, happy gaming everyone!
