How come 99% of Sans' fanart shows his eye cyan/blue, but almost never yellow?

I prefer blue tbh and it looks way cooler, but does everyone seem to think that? Or does Sans' eye only flash yellow when you try to move to the fight button when he's awake. I beat Sans twice and I don't know why his yellow eye does not get so much love.

It's because it tends to flash through an animation I think, so most people think it's blue.

I would say because it matches him. Blue eye, blue jacket, turns your SOUL blue...

Although his eye is BOTH blue and yellow, blue just looks cooler.

Aestetically its easier to please for the eye. Not to mention easier to work with color themes. I have seen some pics who make it look great with yellow tough

Excactly. The background color and lighting makes it a perfect opportunity for the yellow eye.

The thing with the already yellow hall is that a blue glowing eye out of the shadows shown there give it more contract and intimidating look, so even with the yellow theme of the hallway most people will go with blue. Gives more contrast and thus more a feel of danger.. especially the only glow blue from the shadows.
