Undertale; Hard Mode (Glitch?)

I started playing my Genocide run, and I named my character "Frisk" to get the Hard Mode and all, but after killing Toriel, a dog showed up and said "Hard Mode is over" and then it had an argument with Toriel. I'm confused, because after that, a screen pops up saying, "Undertale: Hard Mode" and Flowey pops up, insults me for a bit, and then goes away, and the screen fades to black and then back to the menu screen. It then sets me back to the save point, "Home". I went through Toriel's house again, and fought her again, killing her (Because Genocide Run) and it gave me the same "Hard Mode" Cutscene and all that. It keeps doing this, and I'm confused as to how I continue with the story. Could I get some help with this, if it's possible? I'd really like to get back to my first Genocide Run, without resetting the game. Thanks!

Yeah, Frisk is the name that activates Hard Mode, so just use anything besides that.
