You called?!?!
However, I'm not saying it's amazing!
As said on the website I downloaded it on: It's pretty hard.
I recommend you first play Earthbound at least until you have explored all the areas in the game (apart from the "Cave of the Past" and such since it's just enemies and a boss.)
in order for you to understand the battle system and all the status effects since all the PSI are renamed to "Spells" like: "PSI Fire" => "Flame" and "PSI Healing" => "Cleanse".
Don't think grinding is an option to make the game easier since:
1.Fights require stategy, so setting to auto-fight (or in this case: "Loser") is not an option
2.You need buttloads of EXP to level up and enemies give small amounts.
3.The stat increases aren't very spectacular either. (Except for some of the "Spell" unlocks)
4.The hack is perfectly beatable with ALL your party members under LV 15 (Yes, I'm talking about the "good ending" here!)
On top of that, I barely ground for EXP, just a little in the beginning, because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sewer rats were kicking the living s**t out of me. Grinding is unnecessary later on.
If you know what you're doing, the hack should be about 5 hrs long, maybe longer, maybe shorter, who knows... really.
I just finished playing the hack today and I really feel the skills I picked up from playing Earthbound first helped me out. A LOT!!!
There is however one thing I think I NEED to tell you!!!
The hack is also knows as: "Press the B button, stupid!!!"
This was done for a reason: There will be a mayor plot point where you can make a seemingly non-existant choice. Remember to press B there in order to get a better ending!
Other than that... I think Toby did a pretty good job. Especially for the custom spritework and music design. (Varik being an exception, he ONLY has: up, down, left and right WALKING animations... that's it. He can't even properly climb down ladders!)
But, I'm preeeeetty sure that if I say: I looooove "Megalovania"!!!. I'm not alone!
Also, the story behind the hack is VERY dark and confusing, so in case you need help with that, let me know something!
Yes, because "Megalovania" is played and the boss goes through multiple stages which result in different attacks and weaknesses. The boss talks to you AND uses 'PSI BITCHKILL Ω" (Which is pretty hardcore
And no, because being prepared basically makes the boss kill himself.
1.In the beginning of the fight against his second form (the swearing one) just activate Psycho Pspirit (a PSI deflecting shield) three times. (The boss only uses PSI in the beginning stages, so don't worry.)
2.Start hitting him as hard as you can with the PSI he is weak against at the moment (depending on what state he is. Especially with "Freeze" since it can make him lose a turn.)
3.About 3/4 of the battle he will use "PSI BITCHKILL Ω". Having the PSI shield, reflects it back to him for over 22000 HP of damage.
4.In the end he uses some of his regular attacks, but keep hitting him as hard as you can.
5.He will instakill Poo (Ignore him and keep fighting with the remaining party members)
6.I don't remember this part...
7. PROFIT!!!
It's kind of dissapointing, really. I beat him on my first try.
If your fight somehow is VERY different than mine, I'm sorry.
