How does Undyne's hair work?

I noticed that there seems to be a spilt between the Undyne fan art when it comes to her hair.

Those links are both broken but i know what you're talking about.

Personally, i like to imagine Undyne shaved most of her head and keeps the remaining hair in a ponytail, which she sometimes takes a strand of hair out of to resemble bangs. That would explain her haircut in the Alphys date.
