How do I BEFRIEND Mettaton?

So I spammed the "pose" ACT, but I got the same ending I got in the neutral ending where Mettaton's battery died, so can you befriend him after this or do I have to start over?

You can't befriend him like Paps or Undyne. He just becomes your friend in general after the fight.

His battery dies no matter what. The only other way to finish the fight is to attack him head on and kill him. He explodes when you do this, so he dies.

When you Beat Asriel you can go to the house next to napstablook, and mettaton will be there, so you can talk to him later on.

That is supposed to happen. It's not technically a kill because his batteries ran out. The only other end to the fight in pacifist or neutral is if you get high ratings, but his batteries still run out. Don't worry about it, just keep progressing like its nothing.

To beat him, your ratings have to go higher than 10000
