Sparing even one single monster removes you from the genocide run.

Actually, sparing Temmie won't end the Genocide route. As long as you deplete the kill counter in each of the 4 areas (Ruins, Snowdin, Waterfall, and Hotland/Core) before the bosses of each area (Toriel, Papyrus, Undyne, and Mettaton), and kill all the obviously non-random encounters, and Snowdrake, and Lesser Dog if you encounter it, and Shyren, you should get the Genocide ending.

Hahaha seriously? you are incorrect as hell you MUST kill everything and not SPARE anyone sparing even one single creature removes you from the genocide run there is no going back you gotta start over.

If you spared a monster and left the Genocide route as a result, then that monster was not a random encounter.

You have to deplete the kill counters, sure. But you can do so by killing 20 Whimsuns or 21 Looxes, 15 Glydes or 14 Jerries, 18 Aarons or 16 Moldsmals, and 37 Knight Knights or Vulkins if you want. (or any EXP value inbetween)
