Sans and Papyrus

Dontcha find it weird that, despite being brothers, Sans is significantly stronger than Paps? I mean, Papyrus is the most enthusiastic one of the twos, he trains like crazy and will do everything in his power to be part of the royal guard, yet, his brother is way more powerful thn him, without even trying, how's that possible?

Undyne mentions that Papyrus is tough. He could probably win a fight against you, but he was going soft on you.

Alright, but even then, Papyrus hasn't stuff like time and space travelling, gaster blasters, or stuff like that, does he?

Papyrus does mention Sans pranking you across time and space when you enter sans room so he doesn know about that stuff. Maybe Sans told pap to leave it up to him to protect papyrus' positive outlook (what if pap thought nothing meant anything because he knew about resets? Do you think he would be able to handle it like Sans?) so Sans has all the universe alteration and gains access to those special powers because of it.

Well I have a theory where sans absorbed the human souls, because it doesnt seem like Asgore did and he has that flashing eye that he doesn't have throughout the rest of the game.

We never really get to see Papyrus' true power since he's such a big softy. We know he has a special attack but never uses it (damn steals it).

I personally think that this video would be a pretty good representation of Papyrus fighting you 'properly' (although he still can't bring himself to use his full power against you. He's just too kind).

I feel like Papyrus is very strong and tough, but he holds back because he has no intent to kill you. Sans on the other hand, after you destroyed everyone and went on to try and kill him next, he has full intent to kill you so.. he shows off his full power.
