How can I feel better about doing genocide?

I recently started my first genocide run, and I just killed poor Papyrus. I feel so bad! How can I make myself feel better about killing so many innocent things?

Kill yourself that stops the pain. Worked for me.

In all seriousness though if it makes you feel bad just stop if you want to do one of the boss fights just look up a save editor for undertale. It saves you alot of grief in the long run even if people ridicule you by saying "Oh how could you do that just play through it canonically and stop being a scrub". That and lets face it

Step 1: Don't do a genocide run
Step 2: Go back to Step 1

Besides, you can't be feeling that bad if you're still going.

there are several points where you can quit it from here on out. just spare one of the boss monsters from then on, those being Glad Dummy (which is actually really cool because he gets to stay corporeal), Monster Kid, Muffet, Mettaton NEO, or Sans. though waiting until sans makes it impossible to finish the run at all it seems.

you can go to the Local in %appdata% and delete The Undertale files contents, doing so will reset your game.( I don't recommend this due to it ruining the meaning of undertale's story line), I read that on some website
