Help with Genocide. (I need it)

I really need help. I started the Genocide path right (I think) by killing every monster in the RUINS. The music changed and random encounters kept popping up but instead of a fight it just said "But nobody came..." I know this signifies that you have started the genocide path. I kept on going and killed Toriel (ez get rekt skrub) which meant I had killed everyone in the RUINS. I left normally. (except for different Flowey scene) I then entered the SNOWDIN forest. Naturally, I had the scene with Sans (except with slightly altered text) and then had the cutscene with Papyrus and Sans. After that, I started to kill everything, and 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚. I kept saving. (checking how many more people I had to kill) I did this for a while until no more random encounters were happening. I carried on through the forest, solving "puzzels" and talking to Sans/Papyrus. My charcter was doing the opposite of what they said so I knew I was still on for the Genocide route. I killed Doggo, Greater and Lesser Dog, Dogamy and Dogaressa AND Gyftrot. (don't know if Gyftrot is important) I think I might of messed up my Genocide run because whenever I go to a save point, it always says something about a "comedian" so I'm not sure if I did screw up or not. I went into town (SNOWDIN town) to see if the music was changed there. It wasn't...AND, people were there. (I think that means I messed up) If someone could please try to help me and see if I really did mess up before I reset my SAVE for the 4th time, that would be well apreciated.

That just means you haven't killed enough.

Did you talk to Sans after the Bridge?

The encounters become rarer as you kill more and more, don't leave when you think there is no more. Leave once you get an encounter where nobody comes, and of course your save points don't say anyone is left. As for the comedian thing . . . I don't know.

Yea, he said I'm going to have to fight his brother soon and based on how I am acting now, I will "have a bad time" (he didn't REALLY say that, but he said something similar to that)

Gyfrrots are random monsters. You can do the quota there.

Yes, it is grind. Get used to it, it will be needed in all places you go.

To make it more clear: there are unique monsters and random monsters.

All monsters that don´t have a "cutscene" are randoms. And can be killed again.

Okay then if you are getting the ominous music and encouters with "nobody came" you have done all you can and moving on the kill papyrus is what you need to do next after looting the shop and whatever else you want.

I've been walking around the area with the box (BOX ROAD) for half an hour and...𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨. I learned from the RUINS that you have to keep killing until they are all gone ( "don't leave when you think there is no more" ) and the creepy-ass music starts playing. It DID say "1 left" at one point, but after that, whenever I went to see how many more I had to kill, it just said 'That comedian..." I think either their is a bug/glitch or I screwed up somehow. If you can find anything online about the comedian thing, that would help. I've checked for it, but nothing really comes up.

The encounter rate can and will get extremely low. It can take more than 10 minutes to get that last kill. Be patient.

Try going for random gryftots encounters in that cliff (where there are the glowing eyes and you meet Sans twice).

your save point did have a message then, "that comedian"?
I thought all the saves just became Determination in genocide. Do any other saves have messages? I wonder.

I found the problem. I completed the Genocide eariler this week. I replayed, applying the same question you asked to myself. I did what I did the first time which messed me up. I checked the save point, and the only thing that came up was something in red text, "that comedian" I checked all other places to see if anything else came up. Nope. Nothing. It just desplayed the regular message for all the other areas. (Ex. Waterfall - Knowing the mouse might one day extract the cheese from the mystical crystal...Fills you with determination) But what I do know, is that the "that comedian" SAVE note is refering to Snowdrake. You actually do not have to kill Lesser Dog. Lesser Dog is a random encounter, and can be avoided. I actually encountered it in a different area in the forest. If Lesser Dog doesn`t appear and the "Nobody Came" screen comes up, you`ll probably see him in Grillby`s, since some players saw him in Grillby`s alone with the same text you`ll find in any route.

However, the genocide run will be aborted if you fail to kill Snowdrake. You will not fight Undyne the Undying, MTT NEO, and meet Chara.
