I see the potenial if its used comedicly. If we're trying to make a serious story...
Well, spend 30 minutes on Fan Fiction.net and see how that turns out.
I will admit though, overly edgy stories like that ARE my guilty pleasure.
Trust me, there's a LOT I don't like about UnderFell, but the idea of it is pretty cool.
Also, how randomly sexual it is, HILARIOUS for all the wrong reasons.
SO true. I'll always use the white and black style over the Edgy red one. I just think the white looks more pleasant.
Its also very obvious. "Papyrus was nice in he actual game, so lets make him an abusive ♥♥♥♥ in this one!" I could see that coming from a mile away. I still like his design though, but only because it reminds me of Grim from The Grim Adventures of a show with a long as title.
I actually find it an interesting idea where the only good people are Frisk and Flowey.
I'm starting to believe that's what most people think. Really I think UF shoots itself in the foot by taking itself too serious
From what little I've encountered, one theme that irks me is the prevailing theme of Frisk doing pacifist things. "Seeing the good" and all that. That actually gets under my skin- that's not an inversion, it's missing the point. (Missing the point being a favorite passtime of the general fanbase, but I digress.)
In Fel, pacifism should be off the table. The genocide of all the evil monsters should be the "good" ending, saving humanity forever.
Conquest of the monsters and leading them in war against the humans should be the "bad" ending.
Alternatively, a pacifist run where you are ultimately betrayed after you set the monsters free, and they then release untold hell on earth to illustrate the consequences of your naive ways.
But that's just like, my opinion man.
Oh yeah. The way I'm writing it, Frisk (and some other protaganists) has to kill the boss monsters of the underground Organization 13 style. Killing in this case would be the right, and GOOD/HEROIC thing to do.
