Why I and other people hate Undertale

Undertale for me wouldn't be a bad game but an ok one but for me the community is who overhypes it. Oh its better than Ocarina of time its the greatest game I've ever played it has so much meaning its a true work of art. Then I played it and I thought that is was ok I mean the writing was good in some spots but aside from that everything else was just a big meh. The gameplay is pretty boring and the pacifist run which is meant to be different is stil boring. Instead of hitting attack over and over you just hit different versions of attack instead and let them live. And people who say that oh well you get to know all the monsters personally well if you're so devoted to this holy master peice of God you spread its praise to the people and never shut up about it tell me all or atleast most of the monsters say about 90% of them and every bit of their personality. Everyone also says no spoilers!!! Well how about you don't spoil it to people then! WHY JUST WHY do you people like this this much! so answer me why and don't call me a hater or I'll prove what IHE proved that when someone criticises something people like they are called a hater and can't accept new opinions.

Ocarina of Time is probably one of the most overrated games of all time. I challenge anyone to go back and play it like I have done fairly recently. Still a great game but several things about it have not aged well, particularly in regard to the basic mechanics of the game (camera and controls). It's a great game and I have no desire to bash it whatsoever, but this popular "its the best game of all time and nothing else can ever be better" mentality is just nonsense.

Undertale is a work of art and I don't really care what anyone else says. "The combat sucks." I'd be inclined to agree somewhat, but combat was never really supposed to be a major point to begin with. The game is more akin to your typical story-driven adventure game than it is to a traditional RPG, and it does exceptionally well as a game in the former genre.

I agree with your opinions but really in terms of community your voices are overshadowed by the people who do say its the greatest game of all time and in terms of OoT being overrated so is undertale and people claiming its a work of art but if it is a work of art and these kind of games are really popular what I really want to know is what makes undertale more special than other games that are art like That Dragon Cancer or A Players Guide and Undertale gets much more praise then that the main thing I want to know is why people like Undertale so much.

I think the real reason I started this discussion was because I have a friend who will not shut up about Undertale and every reason he had for me not liking the game I could easily counter, such as when I told him combat was boring he said "yeah its supposed to be boring thats why it encourages you not fight" and I said so the game just wants you to flee with 100% succesion every time you encounter something and he couldn't come up with a counter.

Really thinking back I wish I had changed the title to just why I specificly dislike Undertale because if you like it more power to you but people like the fanbase who says its the greatest game of all time to me are just as bad as the sonic fanbase in some cases.

But still I guess I got so overflowwed with Undertale is the greatest game ever heres a link to some proof that this happened

Then this forum during the gamefaqs best game ever vote a guy named zorcacs got criticised for "complaining on Undertale forums" when he voiced his opinions I just don't get it. In the end this whole pile of trash won't make much sense but I enjoy your opinions and encourage disagreement and people making arguements helps renforce both of our opinions and give us new ones.

I do agree that the community spoils everythng, but a community can't make a game bad. I lova Undertale, but your point is valid. But, the community isn't actually part of the game so....

Oh boy it's about ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gamefaqs pole again? That whole pole was a bunch of BS because it compared games that are completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ different and included games that came out pretty recently. I still wonder why people take this kind of poles seriously. There is no such thing as "the best game of all time". If there was one then making new games would be useless because they wouldn't beat that game in terms of quality.

What's good and bad for YOU depends on YOUR tastes and preferences. Why should something or somebody dictate to you what to like or dislike? This is the exact reason why you didn't like UT. Because you thought "Oh, everybody say that it's a perfect game, I guess I should play it" and got dissapointed. You allowed to like and dislike anything you want. But bashing others for having different opinion than you is a bit douchey. I'm not saying that people from UT fandom are not doing the same thing but why you fall down to their level? Just tell them to stfu if they don't respect opinions of others or ignore them. Same goes for your friend: tell him to shut up and if he doesn't then consider changing friends.

The game is great. I like the gameplay and story. I agree the community can be pretty bad and cringy. And it's really not the best game ever. I personally liked Life is Strange alot more than Undertale.

Nep-Nep: calling me a hater on strengthens me since I mentioned in my first post that calling me a hater only proves the fact that people will get defensive and criticise those who don't agree with them.

CGdude: I completely agree with you the game isn't bad but the community does spoil it and the community isn't part of the game so A+ man you didn't call me a hater and still made a valid point.

I think you completly missed the joke in the crossed out "hater". That's why I added "person with a differen opinion." behind it. The hater thing was just a joke dude.

I'm not in a mood to describe what I liked in UT considering that this question was answered several hundred times. Try using a steam search.

You may not be bashing others for the different opinion but a lot of people who dislike UT do. You can't talk about it anywhere outside forums dedicated to UT because you will be instantly shot down by a hater. Most of them come from gamefaqs pole as far as I know. And most of them are salty that their "one and precious" game was beaten by UT in that BS pole.

To rattlebones: do you know how many forums are dedicated to loving undertale just look it up and then look up Why I hate/Don't like Undertale and you will find nothing.
