How do you give yourself money in the save file?

How do you edit the save file to give the protagonist the desired amount of gold? I've tried opening a save file but I can't find the money amount anywhere.

%appdata% appdata Local look for Undertale should be in all caps open File 0 in note pad look for your money amount and there you go

File 9 and 0 will probably both need altered. Make sure your game is closed. Money is 11th row down.
If you are on Mac, I can give you further instructions. Because everything is more complicted on Mac.

How to on mac??

On windows 10 you go to cortana (windows AI program) then type Run open it type %AppData%
go into local if you are sent to roaming press on appdata on the top of file explorer go into local look for the folder UNDERTALE it is just a folder no .exe or .ini then once you are in it go into file 0 you dont need to mess with file 8 or file 9 dont freak out if file 9 is not there it comes after you beat the nuetral path. Then you want to go to the 11th line and type in the amount of gold you want.
