I don't really care that there weren't any battles to speak of, that doesn't bug me, but the lack of varying things to do could become a problem. The Demo is pretty darn short, so it wasn't a big deal now, but for the full version be sure to add some more things to do, lest you risk the player losing intrest, even with the alright dialogue.
That's another thing. The dialogue was good for the most part, and I'm especially glad that you stuck on a description on all the overworld pieces, but alot of it felt hallow and pontless, and most of the good bits of dialogue weren't REALLY funny, they just got a brief laugh, which is still impressive nonetheless.
I think the thing is that you never spent enough time on a joke for it to work, except with the Lab Door, which is why I enjoyed that part so much. But you won't be able to rely on something like that for the full game, or maybe you can, if you make it work. I wouldn't count on it though.
Lastly, the only truly negative thing I have to say about this demo, is that I lock-picked every cell door I could, and I was pretty upset to see some of them had nothing behind them. The blocked off door was an exception however, since there was at least a joke for doing that. It doesn't matter if you're in a demo, a trailer, a full game, whatever, the player should Always be rewarded for accomplishing something.
Remember from UnderTale when you enter the 2nd room with bridge seeds, there's a sign at the bottom, and it says "Contragulations! You failed the puzzle!" It's entirely pointless, yes, but it didn't feel pointless, and that's what's important. Just try your hardest to make sure OtherTale doesn't feel pointless, and I guarantee this will be a great game.

Oh, you made Goatmom's Tale? I've been playing it but..I suck. xDD I was always bad at Mario so this game kinda wrecks me >_>; lol. It's well made though.
