Actually you never encounter Pyrope in genocide, because you never learn about "orange" attacks in that route. :P

As long as you haven't killed Mettaton, you should still be on the Genocide route. Stay on the bridge before Mettaton and keep walking around.

I think after half an hour of up and down on the bridge ( a little walking around too) that Iv done all i can do. Do I just reset?

I guess so? That sounds like a glitch.
Are you sure you didn't kill Mettaton, save, and then forgot somehow?

This glitch has no real known counter. I guess you could try hacking the games files, but after looking at them twice over, I'm not sure if you can change that aspect of a single run. Try contacting Toby, maybe he'll know.
