Version 1.000 not working

Whenever I revert back to the old version of undertale i'd launch it but all that would pop up is the window that says its launching but it would never show up. help?

I'm looking to get the coloured sprites mod and it only works with that version.

Huh, okay, first just check if the mod is downloadable with the current version, probably won't work, but still.
Okay, that has happened to me before and I know how to fix it (if it is what I came across), so did it "warn" you (in case you do remember, did it talk about files syncing) if so you have to turn your pc off and on again.

how did you tamper with the files?
did you edit %localappdata% or look in the undertale files on steam?

yes I think i was tampering with with both of them trying to figure out what was wrong.

check the %localappdata% file that contains undertale, one of the files you may find file0, file8, file9 and undertale.ini (or something like that), if you cannot locate that then tell me.

Which color mod are you using? Because there's a number of them, probably at least one that works on the current version of Undertale.

Nuke 'em from orbit. That's essentially a hard reset of your save files, and the game will create new ones when you turn it back on.

And how do you Hard Reset?
