how many monster-souls = human soul

I don't know how many monsters are in the underground exactly, but whatever the full amount is, that minus one is the answer. A sign in the Waterfall states that you'd need the souls of almost every monster in the underground to equate to a human soul.
(The reason I said minus one is because Napstablook's soul didn't get absorbed, so Asiel didn't need his soul to break the barrier.

Ehhhh...no. Because then Flowey would have gotten a human SOUL on his own Genocide runs.

Since "all the monster SOULs combined would equal only one human SOUL", and there are at least 12,000 monsters in the underground judging by the Mettaton ratings...yeah.

Flowey wouldn't absorb monster SOULs by killing them, monster SOULs don't persist after death. Asriel absorbs their SOULs while also keeping them alive.
