The legends of the mount Ebott

There is a thing I can't understand. When Chara climbed the mount Ebott, legends said that those who climb the mountain never return. But Chara was the first human who got into Underground. So what were these legends based on that time? Can you explain it somehow?

IIRC it doesn't say that this legend appeared before Chara's fall. And the Chara's fall may be the one that started that legend.

Well, it was told us in the game intro where Chara's climbing the mountain was shown as well.

Chara was the first of many kids to fall into the underground. None of the kids came back, they all died some way or another. This led to humans (mostly children) to ehink you would never come back if you climbed up Mt. Ebott

At the end of Pacifist Route Asriel mentions these legends too. What from could he learn it?

It just shows us the she is climbing the mountain. Nothing says that legend existed before Chara.

He was able to manipulate time. He could learn it from other children that have fallen Undergorund when he was Flowey.

The legend could have been just created by paranoid people to stop others from going up there, especially children, since that's where the monsters now live. Chara probably knew this and literally wanted to just disappear up there.

That remains a mystery. But popular theory is that she climed the montain to commit suicide.
