Undertale

Undertale

A slightly different view of Temmie
Edit: I apologize if i had made anyone feel personally attacked. My reasoning was not developed enough, and thus i jumped into conclusions.

My original opinion will still be up for further assessments, but i will no longer stand by it.

Thank you for understanding.

Original opinion:

Undertale is a game brimming with characters and personalities, but all of its buildup was ruined by one single creature in the game.

Temmie.

Temmie is an obvious take on the stereotypical potrayal of women being flimsy and bimbos, with their horrible speech patterns and weak stats in-battle.

One action that the player can do in front of temmie is flex. And what does that do? It summons a muscular and testosterone-induced horse that makes the Temmie run away. This is, without a doubt, Toby Fox's way of showing us that men are vastly superior than women and that masculinity can stop femininity from growing. This is a disgusting act of mental torture for women, and I'm surprised that no one has ever noticed this yet.

What sickens me even more is the infamous Tem shop. The Tem Shop temmie is the only vendor that buys items from the player. And what does this potray? The shopaholic stereotype of women. I couldn't feel even more repulsed when i realised this simple fact, and it makes my stomach sick just trying to imagine what Mr. Fox was thinking when he made this character.

And one last thing that Mr. Fox added to this disgusting mix of feminine stereotype and ignorance is the college, or "cool leg" as the fans would describe it. The player is able to pay a large sum of gold to Temmie in order for her to be able to go to college. And this seemingly-simple option shows even more stereotypes that Mr. Fox has in his head, which include:

1. Women wanting money
2. Women being uneducated
3. Women misusing the money others give

When i fully analyzed this Temmie case, i shed many tears of disappointment. Not just to Mr. Fox, but to all the fans out there. Why are you all accepting this? Don't be blinded by the game's cuteness. Mr. Fox's agenda is to destroy women and make men triumph. And the fact that no one noticed it sooner makes me sad.

Please share this to your friends and families so that we all can expose Mr. Fox and his subsidiaries.

Good day to you all.

Well you all are certainly not Happy Campers
Temmie is a character that was put into the game for Temmie Chang, who helped with the game and as my understanding did most of the artwork for monsters and such. Temmie's behavior and battle against her is just a joke, about internet memes and this memeable personality pattern of a person who is socially awkward. The way this character speaks and behaves is purely a big meme.
I think you points about how Toby views women can be completely discarded seeing that:
-The strongest warrior in the game that doesn't fight using magic (but rather, using a weapon in a way that requires actual talent) is Undyne, a female warrior, beating your point about him thinking women are fragile and such.
-The only scientist present in the game (ignoring Gaster) is a woman, countering you saying he thinks women are uneducated.

I have no way of refuting your point about women wanting money; besides for Temmie, there are only 4 other shop vendors in the game (1 more if you count Catty and Bratty as 2 vendors; 1 less if you don't count Bugerpants because he just sells for a corporation and doesn't run his own shop), which all want money since they do sell things. I usually am not one to say people get easily over-offended by things, but I think interpreting the option of sending Temmie to college as demonstrating the stereotypical way in which women want money and misuse it is wrong, since it literally demonstrated none of those qualities. Since when is going to college "misusing money"? and since when is donating ANY money to ANY cause considered as said cause only wanting money?
(I'd love your response if you have one, and I apologize if I misused or misspelled any words. English is not my first language.)

It's an extreme take on modern feminism and how it can impact the industry.

I think you just went full smike there.
Its nothing but an innocent dog. A dog with the "stupid cute personality" attached to it.
Eh. Temmie is always going to be Temmie to me: Random and hilarous to meet, as well as adorable :)

Also, temmie is supposed to be the in-game version of temmie chang, one of the developers of undertale. She wanted to be portrayed like that. Just to let you know.
these comments are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gold

congrats toaster, you made a wholesome thread :^)

You know, this isnt my first time seeing a feminazi thread. I saw another one in tf2 forums about a year ago.
And that one got 1000 comments.
Everybody can interpret the game as they wish, as was stated before by Toby.

If you see Temmie as a stereotypical stupid, gold-digging woman, then that's your point of view. I see why you think that, but I don't see how that's a bad thing (Temmie being that character)...

Even if that was Toby's goal, it wouldn't be disconnected from reality and make sense, just like any other hidden meaning in this game.
Temmie is NOT the only vendor that buys items from you. Gerson, the turtle guy also in Waterfall, you can sell items to.
