who uses controllers for games like these?

tl;dr use whichever is more comfortable for you personally.

I use controller, but both options are fine. TECHNICALLY keyboard does have a slight advantage due to option select inputs though. But those are unneeded for about 88% of all playthrus, only half of the remaining 12% use it. And in that 6% that actually make decent use of it, the keyboard only has an advantage on one sepcific attack phase.

And explaining why/where any of that would get used would REQUIRE THESE BLACK BOX THINGS because spoilers.

Only 2 fights in the game are hard enough to actually consider using the keyboard. The controller is much more comfortable for the most part (at least for me).
(sarcastic voice) Oh no...this is the hardest question ever...to play using a keyboard (that gets uncomfortable after a while and generally feels a litle off using your right hand to control (that last note depends on the game) or a controller (like, who even asks that? It might depend on the game, but if ANYONE asked me if I wanted to use keyboar-STOP! Say no more, give me the controller please.)

Try playing a strategy game with a controller. (Not a console exclusive)

Oh for that, of COURSE you need a mouse, wait, I haven't mentioned a mouse! Ah darn! Games that didn't have controller support in mind sometimes are better without them anyways. Games like TF2, keyboard and mouse without a doubt.

So if I ask you to play a game like TF 2 with a controller then you will say no? Kinda contrary to what you have said:

Seriously, it depends on a type of the game. I would never use the controller for FPS games, strategies, RPG's like Baldurs Gate and Bullet Hells while for 2D platformers, fighters, races and RPGs like Dark Souls I would use a controller.

Oh boy. Here comes the flame posts. I suppose I used the wrong words. I should just stick with "I really like the controller" instead of a huge speech.

K.
If you consider that a flame post then don't ever get in arguments.

I found using the steam controller was ultimately the best option, with keyboard coming in second.
