Lose soul Before ending ?! <- - - -[Help please]

However i Failed on my first try.
i still didn't get to see that lament of "best brothers forever" so instead of killing a few monsters, i decided to kill Every single monster Before the intro. including toriel.

Now here's the kicker. i Did not play pacifist mode first, i did not play neutral mode first, i played hard mode first, killed all monsters in the intro and Never even got to through papyrus or further during genocide route.

AND YET, even though i never lost my soul at the end of the game[never reached the ending on any route], every time i reset the game
my name is no longer frisk, It's Chara.

so........apparently i lost my soul without ever getting to reach the ending of genocide route
apparently there's no way to Not lose your soul and reset after killing Sans.

i want a Refund of my game experience, and it seems that steam doesn't Help you restart the game to recover your soul once you played genocide , it's Registered to Steam and they will know you did this !

about The issue with recovering your soul, i haven't read anything in the forums yet. but the implication that you lose your game experience for pacifist mode forever because steam won't let you reset the game...... why ?

is this perhaps a bug ?

i would like to formally inquiry for aid on the matter.

Is there no way to Not lose your soul and kill everything including the intro all the way to sans and reset before entering the king's room ? to see papyrus lament message?'
to recover what seems to be My soul without ever actually Completing the full genocide route ????

I don't think you actually lost your soul.
"Having" the name Chara has nothing to do with whether or not you have your soul.
After you've chosen a name (other than Frisk, which activates Hard mode, which isn't finished, and probably never will be finished), you can't change the name until after you complete either the True Pacifist Route or the Genocide Route.

I'm not talking about the name i choose. i'm talking about Battle mode against monsters your name always appears on your left corner. and it always said Frisk, now it says chara all the time.

It should only say "Frisk" there in Hard mode, in which you and it have the same name.
Chara is its true name.

you do understand i already did a true reset to hard mode long ago right? i have done like 7 true resets. at the very start of the game.

Do you understand that the name on the battle screen is supposed to be Chara?
If you've done a True Reset, then that means you've completed the True Pacifist Route or the Genocide Route, and been able to change their name.

Fake. Hardmode is only in the RUINS. There is no hardmode papyrus.

You do know there is a difference between resetting the game, and doing a true reset, right?
