Undertale Cartoon References

The Undertale community is HUGE, despite the game being only 1 year old. But what some people don't know are the cartoon references in this game.

Steven Universe & Sans the Skeleton
This is an obvious choice but I'll have to put this here. Lets start with Sans. Sans' design was heavily based on Steven's design. Why? Lets look at that beautiful smile. Steven's smile is somewhat round and has a curve in the middle. Same with Sans. Just look.

Garnet & Frisk
Personally, I made this theory up, but I think that Frisk is inspired by Garnet. Why? Garnet is a fusion, which consists of Sapphire and Ruby. In Undertale, you can go 3 routes. Pacifist, Neutral, and Genocide. Pacifist was inspired by Sapphire due to her mostly peaceful nature. Ruby is Genocide due to her violent nature. Where does Garnet fit in? Neutral. Garnet is a mix of a peaceful and violent nature. Frisk's neutral run is based on Garnet's personality.

Peridot & W.D. Gaster
Much like Peridot, W.D. Gaster is obsessed with science. Not much is known about Gaster, other than that he's a total science addict. So is Peridot.

Pearl & Papyrus
Pearl is always wanting to capture an objective, doing work, and making sure everyone is doing their job. Papyrus is the same way. Pearl also makes sure her friends are ok and uninjured. Papyrus is the same way.

Amethyst & Undyne
Lets go with the obvious one. Amethyst has a scratchy voice, and Undyne is often depicted to have the same voice. They both use ranged weapons. They both have a challenging personality.
