Um my first time right before Snowdin I killed Toriel

I have been sparing some monsters, killing some monsters, etc... However when I fought Toriel I killed her. I really wasn't thinking 1 way or the other but now realize maybe I shouldn't have done that on my first lengthy gameplay. I am currently still in Snowdin.

Did I mess up? I know there are genocide runs and pacifist runs and I guess stuff in-between but I am starting to think I shouldn't have killed Toriel.

Also, what's the difference between a pacifist run and a neutral pacifist run? Thanks(still learning).

It's a neutral run.

1)Is it okay to do a neutral run on my first long playthrough?

2)What is the difference between a neutral run and a neutral pacifist run? Is it not killing Toriel vs killing her? Thanks!!

99.9% of undertale players do a neutral run on their first try if the game hasn't been spoiled for them

1. Yes!
2. Neutral Pacifist = Don't kill Boss Monsters
Neutral = Kill, but not too much.

Last question. I'm in the middle of Snowdin. How do I know which are the "Boss Monsters"? Have I encountered any of them yet up to this point? I'm right past the snow covered red x area. Please no spoilers if possible. Thanks again and sorry for all the questions.

Boss Monsters = Major Characters

boss monsters are Toriel, flowey, papyrus, undyne, mettaton, and asgore.

You have killed one of them so far.
Alphys and sans are major characters, yet you never fight alphys, and only fight sans in one route (not the one you are doing)

Boss Monsters are monsters that you fight before leaving an area.

You fought Toriel before leaving tne Ruins.

Again, not true, one thing is a Boss of a level, and other thing is a "Boss monster".
skeletons are not boss monsters, since boss monsters are an actual race of monsters.
