Theories about mettaton's relation to perseverance soul?

Are there any theories about mettaton's relation to perseverance soul (the purple one)? Except that both overworld mettaton's heart and the actual perseverance soul are of the same colour, mettaton was obsessed with diaries and you are able to buy a torn notebook near her house (you certainly know that her house is located in waterfall), which is obviously a purple soul's weapon (as we know from flowey fight). Even the ability to stay invulnerable longer after hit reminds me of ghost's invulnerability to physical attacks (and mettaton was actually a ghost (WOW! (your captain obvious))). CLOUDY glasses - the second item of this set, I think there's no need to explain this adjective. Even mettaton's desire to leave the underground is something interesting.

There are obviously a lot more facts need to be found just to make some sort of conclusion and it would be a great pleasure for me if someone experienced would analyze that.

I don't really know, I thought his soul was pink not purple? Plus it's Muffet who has the purple soul theme in her battle.
