I appreciate your bravery of potentially triggering most people on here.

but yeah, he is overrated, everyone hypes up his fight, only for it to be 30+ attempts with you failing repeatedly at the same part (for me it was the third round of being slammed against the battle box and the spinning laser attack). And in other runs, he just goes between being "haha funny pun man go brrr" and threatening you, and it gets old FAST

Please don't confuse sans with what the fandom has made him into. They've turned him into either A. cringe edgy anime or B. literally only a funny pun man (he is way more than that)

but anyway, the fandom is WHY sans is overrated. He can actually be a pretty cool and deep character once he stops making puns. But the fandom has overused his theme, and did just about everything else to him, making the automatic reaction to sans "ew cringe"

ima be honest as a active part of the fandom... HIS SONG AINT EVEN THAT GOOD i mean its good but there's better songs in the soundtrack but his is so overplayed and overused, he is a great character but his arc was good and finished in in undertale itself after that its overused.

then dont go into the discussions and just ignore them/ also again as an active part of the fanbase, we do take it to far and they are justifyed in their staments

It's kind of sad really...a lot of people think that sans' reaction to you killing papyrus/his other friends is him crying and being super sad (aka anime cringe). But he really doesn't care. The only reason he even fights you in the first place is because he knows that if he doesn't stop you, you're gonna destroy the world

I still like sans as a character, he's one of my favorites. The fandom hasn't really ruined him for me

Yes, I totally understand someone thinking Sans is overrated, I said as much, but completely disregarding him, or anything because of an outside source is just, so tragic.

Sans is a really cool character, and thinking less of him because of someone else's (or even a lot of people's) interpretation of him is so self defeating. I get getting sick of it after a while, but I love seeing things from games I adore in other media.

If I'm randomly watching a video and see Sans or Megalovania for example pop up, I get a kick out of it. If I see a cringy Sans Mii on Smash Bros, I get a kick out of it. If I see a video or story about Sans where he's portrayed like a pun-spamming moron, I get a kick out of it.

I'm kinda ranting rn but, I learned something after Teen Titans Go came out. I HATED that show for a while, but I was told that I should be grateful we had the great, original show, and not actively hate the new one. I've taken a similar philosophy to fan portrayals of things. I really don't care what someone on the internet does with Sans, cause that's just some person having a good time. Let them have their fun, and always remember that whatever someone does to Sans, or whoever, you've always got the original.

smh you miss the point of the fight, determination. sans is a cool dude, megalovania might be overrated but sans deserves all the respect.
