Is it possible to activate genocide during hard mode?

I've looked for an answer for this everywhere but I can't seem to find one. Basically, I started hard mode, and I want to do a genocide run. Simple as that. Is it possible to get a genocide run with the name Frisk?

Well, you can go genocide, I guess, but the playthrough stops when you kill/spare Toriel, like normal.

No, you cannot. Hard mode stops before you leave the ruins.

why you exacly want to play hard mode genocide?

you can, after you kill or spare goat mama the game resets if im not wrong

You can grind to the point you start getting but nobody came messages. Though, you technically don’t have to be in genocide to get them. Hard Mode also ends after the fight with Toriel. So you can sort of start a genocide run, but can’t finish it.
