Well, whats your reasoning? and don't just say tHe FAnBASe 'cause that's no reason to hate the game itself, and its gotten much, MUCH better in recent years. My opinion on the game is that it is fantastic, and the way you dodge attacks in a mini-game is far better than mindlessly standing there and taking damage. I think this is probably one of those games where the story is the main part and the game-play is just a feature. And the story, ooh, the story is utterly brilliant on every route.

the best games I have seen the game a TERRIBLE fanbase and a good game (lol). it's not that all undertake fans suck but the ones that do are very vocal. like cuphead, undertale. etc.
because that I feel like the entice undertale fanbase are furries. nothing wrong with that but still I feel like that's one of the reasons why everyone takes hard craps on undertale. its either praising the game or taking anything from a mild ♥♥♥♥ to a heavy ♥♥♥♥ on the game

I can see why folks might not like the Game.

Me personally, I love the Game because of the Story and the relatively vague Lore that lets you fill in the gaps. Reminds me of the Dark Souls and Bloodborne. My main complaint is that it guilt trips you if you try replaying after True Pacifist, but that does contribute to the overall Moral of the Game and adds to the power of its underlying Message.

combat's boring, going around the map trying to find wherever the hell you're meant to go is boring, rpgs are boring in general, everything else i forgot to mention is boring, other than that it's ok

I can see how some of your complaints are valid but Undertale is so so very linear. Its literally "Just alk right, so i don't know how you didn't know where to go tbh. The combat is better than most rpg where you just click a button and you either miss or win.

The game's alright, it's about an 8/10 or even a 7/10.
I really can't stand for the meta elements and the deep stuff it tries to pull, its too much of a stark contrast to the humor in the game and ruins the good mood. I know it makes it more unique, but I seriously cannot stand it.
Music is good but it becomes annoying to watch a video on YouTube and hear the same songs over again. Doesn't help that Toby Fox put the price tag for the soundtrack at $!0, the same price for the game. Doesn't include the different pitched variations of each song or most of the Genocide tracks. Buy it on sale.
All good elements of the game are ruined in the Genocide route to push a contrived message that you probably already knew years before even playing the game.
Gameplay is more interesting than most RPGs but isn't that hard. Neutral and True Pacifist route boss fights are impossible to lose. Neutral route boss can only kill you and shut down the game, but you keep getting HP back and will only come close to death. True Pacifist route boss is literally impossible to lose to unless you close the game.
The game relies too heavily on a blind playthrough, so much so that Toby Fox contacted Let's Players and told them to wait a while before playing his game. He also kept Games Done Quick from speedrunning the game for their 2016 events.
Compared to most indie developers, Toby Fox has it all. He met almost all Kickstarter requirements, outside of the comics which he never made and the Alarm Clock which was cancelled and serves as post True Pacifist route dialogue. Gets to become a multimillionaire, have his character added into Super Smash Bros, plays with the creator of the game, etc. The man struck gold, mostly due to luck, but I feel he may take it for granted, especially with how he's been treating Deltarune's development.
His new game Deltarune will probably never get finished. At the current rate it is being developed, it won't be finished until 2025. It started development in 2016.
I know this is a laundry list of complaints about the game, but after a while I grew sick of it. It's still somewhat fun to discuss what its about, but I have no plans on replaying it.
Good points all around. Except... wait you're mostly talking about things **around** the game and not so much it self. Have a good day

undertale is my favourite game story wise, and i like how the game plays with your heartstrings depending on what run your doing.

gameplay wise its lacking, tho the graphics are outdated they are still beautiful, they are suppose to be pixel art because it was inspired by earthbound, and its really impressive for pixel art. the combat is fun and keeps you going on your feet, the game has a whole lot of replayabilty... depending on how many neutral runs you are willing to do. neutral run is boring imo, once you've beat genocide and pacifist your done.

overall i think it is amazing and well written. its a game that i will always hold in my heart, and tho i haven't played through the genocide run yet... i might never. you might find yourself only having the heart to play pacifist, you might throw all of your morals out the window, its your choice.

i feel as if you care about the games morals or any emotional attachment will make the game more enjoyable, i find that those who can't don't care for it as much, but i understand that this game isn't for everbody. but if you don't care for undertales story then no doubt you won't enjoy it that much.

i love undertale and its story. sure i rage quit a lot but thats part of the experience
the true pacifist really moves you emotionally, and the game is pretty clever too if you choose to try and literally beat the game up. it has humor, stories, secrets, and more that i love- wait why am i saying all this? i just really really really really...x1000000 like undertale
