True Pacifist Route troubles I'm having
(NOTE: This issue is already solved, so please ignore this post, thank you:) )

So, I've been trying to do a True Pacifist run and I'm having some trouble. (Note I have done a neutralist run before this, where I defeated Omega Flowey and killed Flowey, so I'm not sure whether that causes the issue).

During the True Pacifist run, I either spared or fled with everyone I encounter, and finished all the dateshangouts, and saved everyone I could. At the end, after I defeated Asgore, I chose to spare him (to progress and fight Omega Flowey).

The issue is: after Asgore did his dialogue, he said something about how I should take his soul, and the animation appeared that I finished him off (there weren't any of Flowey's attack pellets, Asgore just died).

Then, Flowey appeared with the six human sould, and said something like 'let's get it over with'. I then got put into the ending room, I walked into the portal and the credits appeared.

It then went back to the title screen, I opened my saved file and I was back at the room before Asgore fight. I backtracked to check for Undyne's call and letter, but is wasn't there.

So I fought defeated Asgore again, and also spared him this time. This time, Flowey appeared and finished Asgore, but I still didn't get to fight Omega Flowey! Again, I was put in the ending room again, rolled the credits, went back to the title screen, loaded my save, and backtracked, but Undyne still hasn't called.

I'm not sure why this happens, has it got to do with my first Neutralist Run where I killed Flowey Or is there anything I've done wrong?

I'm a new player so would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help :))))
(Edit: Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, so please also let me know if there are other forums for troubleshooting for questions like this one)

It is most definitely the fact that you killed Flowey in that first neutral run. I suggest you try finding a way to true reset, which is the only way to "revive" Flowey. Once you manage to do that (I have Undertale on my Switch, so I can't help you with the resetting) DON'T kill Flowey or any other monster. You should get the call from Undyne in the space between the MTT Resort and the Core.
Hope this helps!

Tyvm for the reply! I'm a bit hesitant about true resetting (sounds scary lol), so do you know whether true resetting will affect anything else (like my progress, previous runs, future runs, etc) other than 'reviving' Flowey. Also, if I want to play a different route after I finish one, do I have to true reset everytime (if I've done anything critical, like killing Flowey, during the run)?
Anyways thx for the help :D

Since you killed Flowey, you must true reset and kill nothing to get the true pacifist. True resetting will put you back at the name select screen, so it is essentially starting a new game. Finishing a true pacifist run will have the game give you the actual option to true reset, and so will genocide route, though a genocide reset does effect some things (I'm not going to spoil them for you, in case you decide to do genocide). To true resent now, I think you have to go dig in the game's files or something, I don't know exactly, but I'm sure there are videos explaining how to do it.
Pro tip: don't kill flowey unless you are planning to do a bunch of neutral runs in a row, because this will limit the amount of times you have to fight omega flowey. Neutral routes and genocide are the only things you can do a normal reset to do, one of them granting you a hard-earned true reset.
Pretty sure this is everything you asked!

So...it's quite common to true reset Undertale by messing with the files, is it? I'm a new player so I still have a lot to learn lol. Thanks a lot for all the help!

Most people ask and find out how to true reset to find a way to fix what happens after genocide, so it's pretty much common.
You're welcome!

Yeah, it seems that Undertale is rly unique in the sense that it interconnect the in-game story-line with the actually macro game-play, so it is quite confusing lol. I'll be off now, tysm for the replies and sorry if I bothered u.

You don't fight OMEGA FLOWEY on pacifist, he becomes TRUE FORM
spoiler alert asriel
AzureChaos Feb 9, 2021 @ 7:43am
You beat flowey, so he doesn't absorb the SOULs because he knows you'll just beat him again.

Once you kill/spare both asgore and flowey, you'll get the neutral ending. To continue with the pacifist route you need to exit the CORE and outside of the hotel you'll get a call with instructions on how to proceed. killing asgore or flowey does not change whether or not this happens, but rather if you did spare both of them flowey would tell you how to get the "happy ending".

You only get the call if you’ve completed Undyne’s date before this point. If you do her date after beating Flowey and sparing Mettaton, she gives you the letter right before she moves to Snowdin.

So a player may never get that call on the core-resort bridge.

As far as I know, killing Flowey doesn't lock you out of the true pacifist route. The main problem with killing Flowey is he doesn't show up to give you hints on how to proceed after the neutral route is finished (he is alive, however, since the game takes you to your last save before fighting Asgore).

If Flowey doesn't show up, then you should make sure the following requirements are met to see where to go next, assuming you haven't accidentally locked yourself out of the true pacifist route:

1. Have 0 EXP (check the in-game menu for your stats)
2. Date/hangout with Papyrus after his battle
3. Hangout with Undyne
4. After fighting Omega/Photoshop Flowey, backtrack until you're near MTT Resort for Undyne's phone call

You can check if you've befriended Papyrus and Undyne properly by checking your phone, which should give you the option to call Papyrus and Undyne. If neither are listed, go to Papyrus and Sans's house and talk to Papyrus, who should be standing outside. If Papyrus is listed in your phone but Undyne isn't, try going to Undyne's house in Waterfall and talk to Papyrus, who should be outside of her house. If he says Undyne has heat-stroke and can't hang out with you, then you've probably been locked out of the true pacifist route and will need to reset the game, as you were supposed to give her a cup of water from the cooler after she chases you into Hotland (and don't leave the room before doing this, or she'll disappear the instant you walk offscreen).

But if they are both in your phone and you have 0 EXP, then you should be able to get the phone call. Make sure you're in the right place to receive the call, which is the room directly north of MTT Resort. If you're still not getting it, you could try going to Papyrus and Sans's house to see if Undyne mentions a letter, just in case the event was triggered. Beyond that, I wouldn't know how to fix it.
