In the PS4 version you can spend your gold to keep getting new wacky things added to it. Most of the trophies are associated with it.
In the Switch version there’s an additional optional boss you can fight there later in the game. It uses a soul gimmick specifically for the joycons.
The Xbox version is more similar to the PS4 version where you make donations to upgrade the area. But it’s turned into a casino with slot machines.
Personally I find the PC version of the game to be harder to control. But maybe that's just because I mainly play FPS games on the PC
