If you set the Pacifist Ending in stone, you get a Phone Call from "A Voice You Never Heard Before" or something to that effect. That signals you can return to the Asgore Boss Fight and get the Pacifist resolution.
Ah, I see. Basically entering the True Lab is when the Game locked into the "Good Ending" then, makes sense.
1. Don't kill anyone, spare everybody you encounter.
2. You have to befriend everyone. Go on a date/hang out with Papyrus, befriend Undyne after beating her, and befriend Alphys.
3. Make sure that after you beat Mettaton EX, you don't go through the elevator at the end of the hallway. Once Alphys' conversation is over, go back and go back down the core entrance that leads to the hotel. You should get a call from Undyne. If you don't, you messed up the True Pacifist run sometime throughout the run
You can backtrack immediately after Mettaton EX is defeated as stated, but that is only if you completed a neutral ending and then reset.
Whether you need to get the call on the core bridge also depends on when you do Undyne’s date. If you do her date before defeating Mettaton EX, and Photoshop Flowey if needed, you will get the call. If you do her date after those events, she will actually give you the letter for Alphys at the end of her date, meaning you won’t, nor will you need, to get the call on the bridge.
