Undertale

Undertale

Which route(genocide, neutral, pacifist) is most fun to you?
That is to say, which brings the most enjoyment to you on a single playthrough? No right or wrong answer here. May vary from person to person.

Honestly, true pacifist becomes extremely boring after the first couple of playthroughs. Though Undertale isn't meant to be a game to play repetitively so, I'd say true pacifist is the most enjoyable route overall.

You forced me to not say genocide Sans.

The game seems designed around the pacifist run. The way a neutral run hints at how to get the pacifist mode and how genocide actively tries to waste your time and constantly tells you it isn't worth it.

Yeah the way Undertale is made really favors the pacifist route, but the sparing system is the main thing that's unique to Undertale so I can see why that is.

Oddly enough, I can't see myself ever getting tired of the genocide route. Maybe it's because it's slightly shorter; maybe it's because it's unique (large parts of pacifist and neutral overlap, and I'd say that most of the dialogue and encounters are unaltered between them); maybe it's the feeling of rebellion; maybe it's the challenge; maybe it's the music; maybe it's because I love seeing the best being brought out of the monsters in the face of adversity - especially Undyne...

As far as replay-value goes, though: I should probably say neutral. It has by far the most branches; it's just that a lot of them feel pretty similar.

On a first playthrough, you're sure to get more out of either pacifist or neutral - I wouldn't have appreciated genocide nearly as much without having already played those. But once you've exhausted them, the Waterfall portion of genocide will take the longest out of any route to become tedious for me.

Saying "pacifist and neutral overlap" just shows that neutral is presented to you that way. Neutral can also overlap with genocide if you just killed every mob at every spot except one monster in Hotland since it's still neutral.

Edit: But yeah I agree with the other stuff, neutral is the most replayable route due to its variety and genocide could be enjoyable because it's a challenge.

Definitely Genocide. Watching them get cut down with a single hit is satisfying. Until Sans comes. But yeah, totally recommend.

Genocide is hard but it's worth it.

That's a good point. I probably should've specified that I meant routes which are neutral from early on (i.e. meeting neither pacifist nor genocide requirements in the Ruins).

I personally liked all of the routes. If I were forced to pick a favourite route, it'd probably be the Neutral-Pacifist route. Flowey's my favourite character, and I really liked the Photoshop Flowey boss fight, cause of "Your Best Nightmare" and "Finale" playing in the background.

Really wanted to pick Genocide though, due to what Flowey says to you right before you fight Sans. Idk, I liked it a lot and it was my favourite bit of dialogue in the entire game.

Props to the No-Mercy playthrough though, the Undyne fight in that one is more touching than her Genocide fight imo.

edit: nvm, disregard what I said above. True Pacifist run is the best, solely because you can go back to the ruins and comfort Asriel before going to the surface.
