I doubt it.
Honestly, I find the entire Timeline a little bit confusing... Even after diving into the Lore extensively.
Practically speaking though, I am fairly certain that the Creator would prefer to keep UNDERTALE a Game that took place in 201X. Most developers usually do the same thing with their Games, not changing timeframes just to meet the current year.
It was a product of that specific Decade. No reason to alter it.
We know that the Dreemurrs (who are immortal) and Gerson (who has cartoon turtle age logic) seem to be the only monsters in the game that have seen a human. That means it has been at least 30 or more years since the previous human soul fell into the Underground, and there are 5 other souls that fell before them.
I got the impression that Chara fell down some point between the War (Which appeared to take place during some sort of Medieval period in time) and 201X.
Based upon the Pacifist Ending, the World does not seem particularly... Futuristic. More of a Modern look to it. I think the opening Events depict Frisk and Chara as having fallen very similarly, but that it shows what year Frisk fell to show how much time has passed since then.
In Genocide if you check the same calendar, Chara says something like, “The day I fell into the Underground.”
We also know that it is Chara in the intro and not Frisk, because the scenes during the Asriel boss fight are a continuation of the intro.
Ah, alright.
Heh, this Timeline really is pretty crazy. Well, I suppose that does more or less confirm it being a lot further into the Future than I expected.
