But, y'know, I don't have enough proof to defend that besides the game being called "Survey Program".

Right now my theory is that the ending of chapter 1 is mostly a fake out. What we see is just Kris justifiably lashing out against the player for controlling them, and the knife is just so they can get some of the pie downstairs. Kris obviously wants to go back to the dark world, and it’s likely the red soul is needed for it to open. So this will quickly lead Kris to take us back.

Each chapter will focus on another of Kris’s classmates, which will also become a party member. Chapter 1 was Susie, Chapter 2 will focus on Noelle, Chapter 3 will focus on another, etc. Susie and Kris will probably be permanent party members for most of the game while the third character will often switch between Ralsei and the featured classmate.

The reason Ralsei will be absent a lot is because he is also the Knight and the main antagonist of the game. The dark world is an entity either discovered or created by Gaster that needs players and the imaginations of others to give itself story and purpose. Once one has been fully absorbed by the dark, they cease to exist in the real world and become “goners”. Ralsei/the Knight is the incarnation of this entity attempting to pull Kris away from reality. It is using Kris’s memories of a fantasy world and legend Asriel created when they played together as kids, Ralsei being Asriel’s own character (hence the anagram and why he looks like Asriel). The goners at the start are implied to be pieces of Kris(s) from other universes that failed to be kept from being absorbed by the dark. This and idea of “your choices don’t matter” is a metaphor for the harsh reality that there are just things in our life that are out of our control, namely who we are born as and the circumstances we are born into.
Anyway, no. I don’t think Chara or Frisk will be in Deltarune.

Kris is essentially the Chara of the Deltarune timeline.

I think Ralsei and the 2nd fountain at his empty castle appeared as soon as Kris and Susie appeared to create some kind of conflict to get over for the heroes of the chapter. Why else would there be one actual fountain that keeps the dark world intact while there is one more fountain that's just randomly there? Ralsei and the fountain at his castle is probably what kept dark world alive after Kris and Susie seal the actual fountain. After all, a soul can do a lot.

Also, I believe that Susie could pull off some determination stuff like Undyne does at a genocide run, she has a lot in common with Undyne, particularly her fighting spirit and being protective about her friends.

This is basically the idea.

The fountain at Ralsei’s castle is the main one, and the one at Card Castle was a second. Both were created when Kris and Susie entered the Dark World.

Each chapter a new fountain will appear creating the level for that chapter. When you return to Ralsei’s town, Lancer and Rouxls will be there now, and everything from the Field of Hopes and Dreams to Card Castle will be gone, replaced with something else. This way the Legend intro will work for every chapter, but the last, without being altered.

Ralsei’s Castle will be the final dungeon of the game.

I usually don't contemplate fancy theories about future games, I'm bad at this, besides I'm rather new to the game. Probably could think of one theory...

Maybe the 2nd chapter will give us the ability to spare Ralsei, making our choices change the outcome. Considering Ralsei's personality, seeing Susie and / or Kris trying to stop him would probably free him of most kinds of influence. And it's likely that he'd have the same problem as the Spade King, influenced by The Knight, meaning he'll try to defend the former fountain. There could even be a situation where the main party doesn't have Susie or Kris, and Ralsei could be trying to defend the fountain that the main party of the first chapter protected.

I did some... research... And maybe Chara will be main villain after all...
It seems that Kris doesn't like SOUL for some reason if chapter end is any indication and Chara in Genocide boasts about his control, deltarune seems to limit control we have, the world seems off, who knows, maybe Ralsei is original Asriel reincarnated in AU to stop Chara world destroying spree once for all... Of course that would be just crazy...

Well in my theory Ralsei IS the Knight, not being influenced by them. The Ralsei we’ve met is not the real Ralsei, as the real one was a character portrayed by Asriel. Asriel was a kid, probably the same age Kris is now when he and Kris played together, which is why Ralsei appears the same age as Kris.

Ralsei/The Knight is an entity that lives off of dreams, and despises the real world/Lightner world because it rejects dreams. People grow up and forget imaginary friends, and usually have to forgo their dreams in order to make ends meet.

Like how Kris feels abandoned by the world due to his real parents leaving him, his foster parents divorcing, and his brother growing up and going to college, Ralsei/the Knight also feels abandoned by the real world due his nature.

Ralsei/the Knight is playing both sides in order to create the legend Asriel made up, in order to keep the game going as long as it can so it will continue to have purpose. But, the game obviously has to end, and Kris has to grow up and face reality.

Plus, according to Toby, the game isn’t going to have multiple endings. Even though chapter 1 had different ways of the king being defeated, ultimately the same outcome will happen regardless. Plus, sparing the main antagonist at the beginning of game doesn’t really allow there to be much of a game.

Tbh there is no evidence to even suggest Frisk or Chara will be in Deltarune.
