Undertale
Undertales mystery man W.D Gaster
I am making this discussion to see what other people think about this mysterious character. If you don't know who he is Gaster is the royal scientist before alphys. He was building his invention (I forget what it was called) and fell into it being split up into different timelines

i think f.u.n. stands for "functional universe number" and i thought the machine was the teleporter hub. to be honest, i have always thought the idea that sans and papyrus was two halves of gaster was always pretty rediculous. i'm assuming you got that theory from the gaster episode from underlab?
I came to this conclusion on my own looking at things in the game, most notably particular lines from Sans. Some of things he says makes it sound like he isn't from the world in which the game takes place. Matpat sort of used the same evidence in his Sans is Ness vid, I just believe they come from parallel universes within Undertale itself and not from Earthbound's. The badge in my case I believe is not a reference to EB, but a clue that Sans was a detective in his true universe, and that is how he is able to read people's expressions so well. I should also say that I thought of this long before he made that video. I also have to imagine that fun values must be tied to W.D. Gaster, since all the info about him is found through the use of them. There's also other things like the memoryheads that keep saying, "come join the fun". They could also be a clue to exactly what happened to W.D.

no, sans is totally ness

random thing/theory is that w.d. gaster took samples from both his hands, (thus the holes) and used them to create sans and papyrus. this would explain why they have no mother, but they're still brothers. it also explains the holes in gaster's hands.
Those hand you talking about does look like eyes. It look like another face if you look at Mystery Man upside down. It have some thing in common with Froggit. Haveing 2 face. Both have white/black skin. Also kinda have similar eyes style. I not saying Mystery Man is a froggit. I just saying they have some thing in common.
and new theory, IS THE FIRST FROGGIT YOU KILL GASTER?
anyone wonder why entry 17 is written in wingdings? "it took asgore a long time to hire a new royal scientist" unless alphys was gaster's assistant, (in which case shouldnt really feel guilty for the amalgamates) i wouldnt see why all but one of the entries arent written in wingdings. even then though, maybe WD was a massive troll and doesnt mean wing dings.

it was almost definately written by gaster.
u say this y tho? all the others are presumably written by alphys, and by the time she was royal scientist, gaster wasnt the royal scientist anymore

Who knows. They just call Froggit and we just find more of them hanging around the ruin. After all. I check on Final Froggit. In game text say some thing about Final Froggit. If you use Mystify on Final Froggit. It will show what Final Froggit think. This what I find on text say.

(Final Froggit recongnizes it has more to learn from this world).

It could be that Froggit/Final Froggit not from this world or they know much about their own world. It is possible related to Mystery Man or W.D Gaster. Not by blood. I can not confirm this as a fact. It will count as a theory.

The joke is Froggit sounds like forget, so froggit forgets things occasionally like how it sometimes meows instead of ribbits. It doesn't know how to react to you as it is unaware of its own identity.

Final Froggit is meant to be the opposite where it knows everything. By saying, "recognizes it has more to learn from this world", it shows even though Final Froggit is fully aware of itself and its feelings, it still has more to learn.

Well I never say any thing about feeling in that text. Sure you can base of from other action. Kinda like last time when you want to proven some thing on some other theory. But it just not enough to proven to count as a fact. As far I see. Most user want to think gaster as a skeleton.

What? I'm explaining the meaning behind Froggit and Final Froggit, what does that have to do with Gaster?

If you pay attend what I said earlyer. They have some thing in common. I did not say it is confirm. But it not enough prove any thing big. You can think it is nonsense. Personally I just like to think thing differently for a change. Instead of hearing same theory that said more then few before. During the part I say that you want to proven about some other theory. Just me kinda trying to confused you abit or think of me be lazy on explain every thing in detail. Basicly I thinking about you talking about some other theory that have nothing do with gaster. That you kinda try to force me to belive it last time.

My theory has always been that Sans, Papyrus, and W.D. are all "Dr. Gaster(s)" from alternate universes. The broken machine in Sans' workshop manipulated "fun" values to travel between these universes. Sans and Papyrus were brought to W.D.'s universe, W.D. used the machine, it broke while he was inside it. W.D. was spread across time and space, while Sans and Papyrus became trapped in his universe.

Sans is the only one that remembers because of the stuff he left himself in his workshop.
if you turn W upside down, its an M, might be missing detective? im thinking that maybe the Sans version of Gaster had a detective sidejob or something (and developed some weapons for it, hence the blasters) and papyrus would just be Wacky Docter Gaster
to revive an old thread, i dont really think that WD stands for wingdings, I just think theyre unrelated because of the timeline. Alphys and Gaster werent scientists at the same time, and if the amalgamates WERE gaster's creation, alphys shouldnt feel bad because of them... but that just leaves the "you two" into question. (sans and flowey?)

truth be told, i dont think that entry 17 is written by gaster (unrelated kinda, but not really) because of the timeline. Alphys is obviously super guilt-ridden about the amalgamates, and she and gaster werent royal scientists at the same time, so i dont see how it could be gaster... unless before he was "shattered across time and space" he made the amalgamates, and then alphys was just horrified at them. i dont think though, that the messages in the true lab were written by both of them, because of the timeline again. as for the "you two" in entry 17, i think its sans and flowey, because the two of them have g blasters (or at the very least, modifications of them)

Well if you don't think it is wingdings. You can think WD stand for this (world domination) or (within darkness) or (without doubt) or (well developed).

I have to say WD also stand for (witch doctor) the song. Which I find it kinda funny thought. But it have nothing to do with Gaster any way.

Gaster is without darkness of a doubt, a well developed character which has dominated the undertale world (see what i did there?) Joking aside, i do hope toby does have a fully made story for gaster (or just the basis at least) who knows, maybe he'll read this thread and laugh at how wrong we are xD
