And yes, I do think Red represents Determination as the only other occurrence of the color red is in Chara’s genocide dialogue.
Examples:
-Your ability to save and reset negates events in time so that they can play out as you wish.
-Asriel and the amalgamates can’t be attacked, similar to how you can dodge monster magic as the red soul. Negating the damage they or you would have otherwise taken.
-Asgore destroys the Mercy button negating your ability to spare him.
Interesting point! I've always wondered why monsters just stand there and take it, and why Frisk can dodge. Perhaps it IS their determination to live...although, Isn't Undyne is more determined than Sans? If so, then why does she just stand there and take Frisk's attacks? But other than that I really like that theory!
If it was blood I would think the trident would have a dripping effect, but we can't be sure...
