Questions on Delta Rune

I know it's not an undertale 2 but it just feels like one since it seems to take place literally a few months after the undertale pacifist ending with how the monsters are living fine. Why is the character named kris instead of Frisk or Chara? If you are the same character from undertale since you live with Toriel then how come Sans doesn't seem to recognize you since he wants you to meet his brother? Also how is Asriel still around? I thought letting the monsters get past the barrier required his sacrifice yet he gets mentioned a few times around as if he's somewhere in the town out there. Lastly, do you think there will be any gaster related things in delta rune even if its small and doesn't contribute to the main story?

Think of it like the Final Fantasy games or the Mother games.
Stuff is similar, there might be some overarching theme sharing, and characters might re-appear.

As far as we know (at the moment), they're not related directly.

-Possible. This could even be Sans's original timeline.

-Theoretically, they could use that machine in the Secret Lab.

-The game crashes if you attempt to name your creation "Gastor". And considering this game deals with a Kingdom of Darkness, it could have ties to the secret report in Undertale that was told through what's believed to be Gastor's perspective. Time will tell whether there's a deeper connection or not.

It’s not a sequel. Actually it takes place in 202X apparently. So it’s in a parallel universe long before the events of when you control Frisk in Undertale.

Sans however may be the same person, but we won’t really know for sure until the full game comes out.

Well another thing I don't understand is that if this really does take place before undertale then Asriel being grown up and in college wouldn't make sense since if undertale takes place afterwards based on the audio recordings in alphys secret lab Asriel must have died when he was still a child. But oh well I guess if he shows up in the next chapter then we'll know if he's the same size making him be considered shorty/midget compared to his parents or he really is more grown up which either way will throw off someone's theory somewhere.

Well because in undertale the only glitchy characters are gaster and his followers so I guess that's why.

I don't think you're fully grasping the whole parallel universe thing. . .

There are no audio recordings, there is no Alphys's lab, there is no Asriel dying, there is no Chara falling into the Underground, there is no Underground, there is no human-monster war. Nothing that happens in Undertale matters in Deltarune, it is completely separate.

In Delta Rune, all the monsters used to live in the Kingdom of Darkness, which is not the Underground. The monsters that left became known as the Lightners, and those that stayed in the dark world became known as the Darkners. The Lightners seem to no longer have any memory of the dark world, so they must have left a long long time ago.

It's prequel/sequel if you take into account that alternate universes exist simultaneously, though entry points into other universes are subject to the fickle time travel woven into switching universes.

Theres nothing pointing at it, there is no reason X character may be the same and the others dont, no matter who you place as X

IT is, confirmed by toby fox, a different unvierse with different characters, frisk and chara doesnt even exist, and the characters like toriel are totally unrelated and different from the toriel of undertale
