Differences Between the Undertale Universe and the Deltarune Universe

First of all, there are a few major differences that resulted in many of the others.

• The monsters were never trapped underground.
  
• Toriel and Asgore were never king and queen.
  
• As a result, Alphys isn’t the Royal Scientist.

Then there are all the smaller differences (with some of my headcanons).

• Alphys and Undyne don’t know eachother.
  
• Bratty and Catty hate each other.
  
• Toriel and Asgore are still divorced, but this time, the reason is unclear.
  
• Asriel’s alive and old enough to be in college.
  
• Frisk and Chara might have died.
  
• Undyne isn’t missing an eye.
  
• I wonder if she’s determined.
  
• Asgore is struggling financially.
  
• The monsters making up the amalgamates are all dead.
  
• Gerson is also dead; press F to pay respects.
  
• Asgore and Toriel are either younger or had Asriel later.
  
• Alphys likes Mew Mew Kissy Cutie 2.
  
• The town is made up entirely of monsters, but somewhere, somehow, Asgore and Toriel adopted Kris.
  
• Kris may be Chara with a different name.
  
• Heats Flamesman has a different name (Hots Fireguy).
  
• Mettaton doesn’t have his body.
  
• By the way he talks about them, it sounds like someone else in his family is somewhat famous.
  
• Monster Kid is older.
  
• Sans owns what was once Grillby's, and now it's a grocery store.

I don't think Frisk and Chara died, they just wouldn't have had the interactions and relationships they had in Undertale, so they wouldn't be around. I guess Kris is technically Chara's equivalent in this universe only not dead and not a demonic spirit or whatever.

I'm pretty sure that Heats Flamesman isn't even in this game.......

Frisk and Chara aren't dead, they just don't exist in this universe.

the more famous person might be Shyren or Napstablook.

and you forgot the biggest change: The war between humans and monsters never happened.

you also forgot that, while we know nothing about Papyrus at the moment, considering that there is no royal guard, he might be completely different.

however, it's also possible that he wants to be a police officer, instead of a royal guardsman, which would provide the same training oppertunities with Undyne that allowed him to become the bad chef sphaghetti loving skeleton that we all know.

this is the thing that makes waiting for the rest of the game so hard, it's not the cliffhanger ending, it's not knowing whether Papyrus is completely different, or if he's practically the same Papyrus that we all know and love

Despite all these differences, I think I'll still like Undertale more because as far as my research on Deltarune goes, Toby is NOT going to make multiple endings again which I think defeats the whole purpose of what he's been praised for in the first place.

I think the whole poit of the game is to take away the choice aspect that you had in undertale.

Through out deltarune there was a lot of time when your choice what taken away and i think that might end up being a huge plot point in the game. Sort of a krama thing for you taking the choices away from the charaters in undertale.

I'm not so convinced. What's the deal with the sealed cave then?

In Undertale, there were failed experiments at creating souls using flowers. Given the soul-coloured flowers at Asgore's shop, it seems implied that the experiment was successful instead. The flowers, along with Kris' soul, were used to escape the underground.

Of course it could equally be misdirection.

well those could just be flowers, Asgore is really good at gardening, its possible he's been crossbreeding plants to create different colored flowers.
