Getting your soul back

So, maybe a year ago or so I did the genocide run, and I know it IS possible to mess around with your files to get your soul back and do a true pacifist ending again but I cannot for the life of me figure it out. I've even done youtube walkthroughs to help me step by step, doing exactly what they do, and either the files specified just aren't there for me to delete, or they are and deleting them accomplishes nothing. Can anyone help me with this?

I've always wanted Toby to add DLC that somehow allows you to fight Chara and get your soul back. I think that would be a cool and redeeming way to reverse the damage done during the genocide route. And it would be a nice extra challenge to have. Not being able to kill that evil little ♥♥♥♥♥ is kinda disappointing to me.

I agree that would be really cool, though I do still side a bit on the fandom side of Chara not being entirely evil so much as a misguided child who's been convinced that there's no good left in the world.

Did you disconnect your Internet after deleting the files, but before launching the game?

Remember: if you are connected to the Internet, the game will load your cloud save,even if you disable it.

I know I did a true reset once, and I had to disconnect from the Internet before launching the game.

And just as a reminder:

-Unnistall the game and then delete the files that are left in the Undertale folder inside your Steam Lbrary.

-Delete the entire Undertale folder from C:\Users\'YourName'\AppData\Local\UNDERTALE

-Reinstall the game, but DO NOT launch it.

-Disconnect from the Internet (turn your router off, for example) and launch the game.

I was told I simply need to go into offline mode with Steam, I suppose I can try that.

You think you could kill a genocidal serial killer who litterally owns your soul AND can reset and try again if they die? Not likely

go offline the delete all of the files(steam+appdata) then install again
