Mettaton's robotic body is a male shape and form, His audio sound "OHHHHH YEAHH" is defintaly male. So I believe that he is male. I know that the ghost that posseses him is a girl but I believe that she wants to be referred to as a him and not transgender.

He dosn't show any signs of being gay but if the ghost is a girl she would probally like men so mettaton probally likes men as well.

Ghosts in Undertale are genderless until they fully possess a body, at which point they take on the gender of that body. For instance, most assume Napstablook is male, but they are only ever referred to as “they”.

Also yes, the ghosts are an analog for transgender.

look there was another disscusion bourd discussing this and everyone there agreed that the ghost is a girl becuase of those things. This is a pixlel art game. Stuff like this is going to happen. What if asgore was actully a girl and the horns he has are fake. Statments like that are possible to be true just unlikly.

There’s even a joke during the call in where Mettaton almost calls them male, but corrects himself.

I guess mettaton talks like a men (in the oooooh yes line), but their body... hell no, it shows their "stomach", their soul is pink (in the belly button), their house is pink, the pink extension it has on their body (mettaton ex) it's a bit too big, they say "blooky" wich women sometimes put these short names to friends/familiars and in their house there's a romanic movie seeming poster, soooo
To me there's no doubt that the theory it's a woman might be true, they even shown that they can simulate a cough, so they may have low pitched their voice.
