Can I back up my save?

I just completed True Pacifist. Can I make a copy of the save and move it out of the games directory and keep it safe from getting damnaged from Genocide? I want to do the Genocide run but keep the save safe and put it back in to see the corrupted True Pacifist ending.

I think so, do a backup in Steam (I think it was right click at your game in libary, then atitude, emplyment, something like that and then local Datas) when you found it and finished it, take the folder to another place. It should be save now.

Are you talking about saving your current completed and unaltered pacifist save, doing genocide, then put the completed pacifist file back and getting the soulless pacifist ending without playing the whole route?

Yeah. I want to see the corrupted ending and I don't have time to do a new pacifist playthrough.

I would make two copies just in case. It will either work, or throw you into the dogcheck screen.

You can do a backup with the files, but it wont work, as the specific file that causes the Souless Pacifist Route, system_information 963, is seperate from the save.
And simply deleting it doesn't work. I tried, and the game just put in the file system_information 962, which made Chara appear. I tried deleting that, and the game just put it back.

Try making a system restore point before completing the genocide route. It should work.

By the way, you will have to do pacifist again to see the Souless Pacifist Route.
Also, word of advice, the Genocide route requires you to walk in circles killing everything before proceeding to fight the boss of a specific area Toriel-Ruins, Papyrus-snowdin etc. Walk around in circles until you stop recievieving encounters and get something else. I won't spoil it for you.
