I think Mettaton's song is releated to Final Fantasy
I was watching some videops about games when I noticed that it said in a Final Fantasy game, there was an opera number where a character sang, but it was realy the song. Same goes with Oh!One true love. :alphys:

Yes, that scene is a direct reference to the Opera scene in Final Fantasy 6.
