Make sure his own attacks hit him.
( don’t worry killing him won’t ruin the pacifist run )

Mad Dummy is a hint that some bosses cannot be spared directly (e.g. selecting the Spare command will never do anything useful) and you will need a different strategy.

Also, after the battle Mad Dummy can be seen hanging out in front of Undyne's house.

I was stuck on him for a while and wondering if I had to attack him. Trust me I've been there, just be patient, he is pretty funny to listen to in the battle.
