You probably noticed that if you FIGHT Toriel, the last hit does critical damage. Toby did this deliberately - if you want to win the battle without killing Toriel, you should avoid using the FIGHT command; bosses will not become spareable just by lowering their HP like you can with random enemies.

Now if you accidentally killed her but haven't used a save point yet, you can just quit the game and reload your save file to try again. Otherwise, you will have to "Reset" and start from the beginning again.

I would agree to what most are saying here if Asgore's boss and the having to backtrack without the game telling you in order to get pacifist wasn't a thing.

no, you acually have to do nuetral before pacifist if you did'nt know that... and you have to spare EVERYONE to do pacifist. My advice is spare everyone even if you did'nt do nuetral, after omega flowey DON'T reset, and just continue your game.... im pretty sure you will get a true pacifist ending after you continue AND after compleating alphys' date with undyne... to do that, just return to M.T.T. resort and you will get a phonecall from undyne if you comleated befreinding her withpapyrus jumping out the window and all... hope my adivice was helpfull!

No, the game actually does tell you. If you spared absolutely everyone, after the neutral ending rolls Flowey will appear and tell you which character you missed (e.g. Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys). It's really not hard.

Then why are 20% of the posts on this forum not knowing how to get pacifist at that point?
Also the game does not tell you that the date/hangouts are required to get pacifist.
