Undertale

What is "canon"?
I literally find this all over the place and really wonder what it does mean.

Canon, what is actually in the game and stated clearly.

Example: Alphys liking anime is canon

Are you familiar with searching word definitions and meanings with Google or is this an alien concept to you?

A decent camera company. I'd particularly suggest their Rebel DSLR line as an entry point into professional grade cameras.

In this context, "the works of a particular author or artist that are recognized as genuine".

To put it another way, if something is "canon" that means it's an official part of the work of art.

The creator of LISA once said that all LISA fangames that the fans have made are canon. Joking or not, this means he considers them all to be an official part of the artistic universe he's created, the LISA universe. Anything the fans create would be considered an official part of the story.

Likewise if something is non-canon it means it isn't actually an official part of the work of art, even if it's by the same artist.

For example, Toby Fox might make a game where Sans appears as a character then choose to label that game as a non-canon spinoff, meaning it has nothing to do with the actual Undertale universe. Anything Sans does or says in that game wouldn't be considered to have actually happened in the Undertale storyline.

It means that it exists in game
For instance: Toriel making a pie for frisk is canon.
