How to make Undertale Music (Question)
I know that Toby used FL Studio, and I know that he used soundfonts, but I'm wondering how he made the music for Undertale. What kind of methods did he use to create motifs?

I think he first created the tune by playing it on a piano, and then made the music for the game in FL studio.

I already know that. I said that in the post. I just want to know the methods that he used to make the music (Like if he just randomly pressed notes and made a melody)

Like I also said, Toby fox first created his songs by knowing how to play piano. You can't just make music without knowing notes and how music works. He had practice, as he did write some musical pieces before undertale. He probably had years of practice. If you'd want to make music, you would need to start by knowing how counts work- kind of like in dance class when your teacher yells "5 6 7 8" to the beat of the song so you do the move in time, and how to correctly use measures. Also, while you can use the method of randomly pressing notes to find notes that sound nice with the emotion you want in the song, in the end you should write it down. Writing notes down are simple enough- just use EGBDF and FACE for that. But you also need to figure out sharps, half notes, rests, and things like that. My best suggestion is if you are planning on writing music and have no experience, play an instrument like the piano, or in the same key of the piano.

Yeah, I get what you're saying here. But I guess I didn't elaborate enough. I do happen to take piano classes, and I have for the past 3 years. I wouldn't say that I'm a pro, but I can play some of the tracks from UT with no issues. I was just curious if Toby used any kind of method (like finding a key signature that he liked, or chords) to construct his motifs.

Dont know if you still need it or not but its called a chordioids method, it something used in animal crossing or maybe old day pokemon, it kinda hard to explain and weird method that's not been used commonly, but you could try to look for that on the wikipedia, but not really recommend tho, cuz as mentioned above, it weird and hard to make sense yourself, better to look for a teacher so they can explained to you (hopefully)
