Why I hate Sans (Rant)
Grab some popcorn or just completely ignore this thread because this might be long.

I. Hate. Sans. First of all, I don't understand what makes him so special. So what if he has a hard boss fight and makes crappy puns? There are so many other characters with deeper backstories and more personality, but everyone has to love Sans. Second, so many people ship him with their OC or just them in general. WHY?! He has no redeeming qualities, yet so many people make fanart or Sans x Reader fanfictions. I'm just fed up with not being able to go anywhere on the Internet without finding Sans. Just stop talking about Sans. I swear if I find one more Sans fangirl/fanboy, I am going to throw my computer across the room. Goodnight.

Toriel doesn't forgive Asgore for killing the 6 humans. Also, the Royal Guard disbands in some of the endings. Does that unemployment count as a punishment?

In my opinion? No. It's the equivalent to a slap on the wrist. Don't get me wrong, I love Asgore. But he and every other monster that attacked Frisk at the least deserve time in prison and at worst capital punishment.

Messaggio originale di an.awsome.person.99:
He literally says "I'm just joking with you."

The lights in his eyes disappear when he tells Frisk that they'd "be dead where they stand," which implies that he was serious about his threat. One other piece of evidence is that if you've killed Papyrus, during your fight with Shyren, the text about Sans selling toilet paper tickets is replaced with this:

"A hooded figure watches the commotion from afar."

Messaggio originale di an.awsome.person.99:
Sans already saw Papyrus try and get killed, and he probably also noticed when Toriel disappeared. Even if Sans wasn't lazy, I don't think he would be stupid enough to repeat their mistakes.

Again, like I pointed out, it's the fact that he doesn't do ANYTHING to try and stop or deter you. He doesn't even help out other monsters or take part in the evacuation.

That’s not entirely true. He is trying to get you to befriend Papyrus in the Snowdin. The only thing we know about the monsters evacuation is that Alphys is leading it. Sans could be helping, but that info is never given. Though, doing so would be pointless anyway as the entire timeline gets eliminated.

The only thing Sans can do is fight you earlier. But doing so would make his whole morality spiel in neutral/pacifist hypocritical.

If Sans fought you immediately in Snowdin as he originally planned. The pacifist ending would be impossible to get.

Sans threatens you a couple of times, but other than that, he doesn't do anything to persuade you into befriending monsters or do anything to keep you from killing them. And to clarify my statement a bit more, I'm not saying that Sans should've taken a similar approach to Papyrus or Toriel when confronting Frisk. I'm saying he could've done literally anything to convince or deter them. The very least he could do is add obstacles for them if he couldn't outright attack them.

Sans still acts hypocritical, even though he didn't attack Frisk in the beginning. He doesn't apply the same morals he preaches to Frisk to the rest of the monsters. Which, hypothetically, does make him a much more interesting and flawed character. It's just too bad that this is never explored in Undertale.
