[Resolved] Can someone explain a joke for me?

Howdy!

I have a favor to ask. Would anyone here, please explain to me the joke Sans talks about in the Mettaton Hotel? In case you don't remember, here's what I'm talking about:

When sitting in the restaurant in Mettaton Hotel, Sans will talk about a woman behind the door to the ruins and how they exchanged "bad jokes" every day. One of the jokes goes like this:
Woman: Knock Knock
Sans: Who's there?
Woman: Old lady
Sans: Old lady who?
Woman: Oh! I did not know you could yodel!

My problem with understanding this joke is most likely the fact that English is not my first language, and that I have never heard the word yodel before hearing it from Sans.

I'd be appreciative if anyone here could explain to me what the joke is about. Thanks in advance!

"Old lady who" sounds similar to a yodel.

Yodeling is something people do in the swiss alps I think, (you will have to look it up)

Thank you for explaining this to me. I did not realize "yodel" was a type of singing. I looked up yodeling on YouTube and finally understood the joke.

I would not get it if "The guy from yesterday" didn't make me realize yodeling is singing. I kept looking for a pun in the word yodel, not realizing what yodeling is.
