Help with Genocide?

So i'm currently doing genocide and i'm in Hotlands, but I can't find anymore random encounters. I've already killed Muffet and the bridge of monsters in the Core, but I still have 4 left. And the forcefield won't let me grind any potential encounters the monsters on R2 and L2. And if I kill Mettaton, it'll mess up the whole route, right? Do I have to restart or??

Do it in core on the room to the left where the entrance to mettaton is

Do you mean the very first, empty room or just the area that it leads to (the rest of the core)?
Also by 'do it' do you walk around still?

You know the area where you go up to fight mettaton and there is a save point go left there then keep walking around on that bridge area
