WHY is there no chara fight?
i get chara is all powerful, being able to destroy a timeline in a single attack, but frisk should at least fight back this genocidal maniac of a child, giving frisk a chance, albiet extremely small, to stop chara.

I think is valuable that there is no chara fight. That the game ends in a bitter note. It's a way to make the players reflect a bit over their action, to not give them a satisfaction after something that is "wrong" as it is the "genocide run". It's a GENOCIDE, a pretty big word generally associated with people like hitler. I think the game is made in a way that you feel bad for it, o feel that it's not worth it, that truly there is no happy ending after that.

Why don't you go download some crappy Unitale boss fight with edgy vapor wave text and a boss fight that just throws random attacks at you super quickly

now who said you would win? but i do believe that the ending is supposed to make you think, "what have i done" but what i imagine, is frisk losing almost instantly, but just the fact that frisk even stood up to chara, not just say... the only way this is gonna make sense is if i start another damn arguement isnt it?

i think frisk should stand up because of chara possesing frisk to kill his friends, and i truly believe in that.

anyways, continueing on, not just say, "do what you want, its not like you made me kill all my potential friends or anything."

Chara doesn't have a boss fight because they are so much stronger than you, that they are in control of your own body, and so you can't move. The Chara that we see is a physical representation of Chara in your head, hence the black screen in the background. The reason the Timeline is destroyed even though it's in their mind, is because, again, Chara's really strong. It's figurative language. Chara didn't actually bring down their hand to destory it, they just though about destroying it, and it happened.

There's no way to defeat Chara because Chara is you. He represents the part of you that was willing to kill everyone just for the sake of 100% completion. The only way to beat him was not to play Genocide.

But then, from another point of view, if you played Genocide then there's no real reason to beat him, is there? He's a great partner.

Yes. I feel like chara represents, in a dark way, us as gamer, particulary fan of rpgs. I have been watching projared playing final fantasy 1 recently, and scream "yay" with joy after killing wave after wave of enemies. Not specifically Jared, but this joy in the murder, the way he takes something as violent as fun, it's probably stuff like that what inspired chara's personality. The idea that we act like killers without bating and eye because we don't empathize with the monsters or characters we are fighting. This itself isn't a bad thing, after all this stuff happens in virtual spaces, in games, but it's a good way to make people aware of what they are doing, and pay more attention to it. I can say it has changes the way i play rpgs now, and certainly has introduced some fresh air to it.

ah, i see, i did know chara possessed you, but not when he was talking to you. i thought the black space was a representation of you having reached the absolute.

Because, it would be harder to sell the "chara is the strongest and most unbeatable person to have ever existed" message that the genocide playthrough has.

Chara doesn't have her own body. If you were to fight her, you'd literally be stabbing yourself.

Entity, not person. As since if you refuse to destroy the planet the thing then attacks you.

Wait, you want a fight where Chara instantly kills you?

That's literally what happens in-game.

She attacks you for 999999999999999... Damage before you even get a turn.

"Oh, but that wasn't a combat" you may say.

Well, you kill Asgore and Flowey in that scene and it never goes back to the overworld.
